Advocacy
In the spirit of the African proverb that it takes a village to raise a child, we urge all New Mexicans to be advocates for strong, safe, healthy and thriving children, families and communities. Support local efforts to make communities kid-friendly, from creating or rehabilitating playgrounds to serving on local children and youth commissions. Follow child- and family-centered legislation during the annual legislative session by signing up for updates from organizations such as New Mexico Voices for Children. Talk with elected officials at all levels of government about ways to improve the lives of our children so that they can look forward to a brighter, trauma-free future.
